Oh....predictions of the future are just bloody guessing....absolute prediction equals DEATH....

If you could see 100% accurately what would happpen tomaorrow, the very fact that you have seen it at all would lock you into that future and mean no matter what you did, tomorrow would be EXACTLY as youve seen it to be...

So, it's impossible...

The future is ours to make, every single day...We don't need a god to play any role in that, or neo-paganist "new age" non-sense.

We just need ourselves....and others.

by the way...I'm not into the new age or spritualism as such. They all rely, as religons do, on the god concept. Such neo-paganism is worse than established religons, for it turns the human personal dvelopment clock back by many hours, to the dawn of a time when we were not as well educated as we are today.

Simply put....FAITH IN HUMANS.

God doesn't exist, so we have got to have a little faith in ourselves.

The reason that the words "proof" and "religon" crop up so often is due to the nature of the way religon is taught...

I, personally, have a "giggle" at all the "kapow" miracles....water into wine, loaves and fishes, healing the sick etc.

Just because I don't take the bible (small b) literally as some zealots do, it does not mean that I haven't got any faith, but it certainly isn't with the existance of the god concept, or any of the other late night fairy stories propagated by modern day crusaders...

We don't need a "belief" in sumprem beings of any kind to live a good life and be kind to our fellow man. Our own moralism takes care of that, and if you haven't learnt that by the time you hit high school, then you really are an anti-social idiot.

The solar system, the stellar universe and everything we have observed and learnt in the last 2000 odd years is enough to be getting on with.....

Just to put you in the picture...

Saddam Hussien was executed according to the laws of his country. Right or wrong that we see those laws to be, it is still none of our business to classify them. Whether he got what he deserved or not is secondary to the fact that in the eyes of his victims and their relatives, justice was served. Looking at it from a strictly Moslem point of view, to do anything less to him would not have been "right" in the manner of the country he ruled....

The translation of his last words, "God is great" is "Allah uh Akbah".....This is the standard battle-cry of Moslems everywhere, in fact; their is really nothing devout about it. Hussien wishes to be seen as a man of religon in his last moments, and a good Sunni Moslem to boot.
Similar things happened with German conspiritors executed for the July 20th 1944 bomb plot against Adolf Hitler. Many died shouting "Long live Germany". It really is nothing special.

Saddam Hussien was a tyrant and mass murderer...a stain on the name of the Sunni Moslem, and a disgrace to free thinking Moslems everywhere on this earth.

I don't agree with the death penalty either, but I'm not an Iraqi, and not even a Moslem. It is not up to us, whatever silly religon we profess to be, to judge the decisions of countries not our own...

And as for Rest In Peace, I'm not sure that sits too well with me either. Hussien deserved much that was cruel, and the quick passing that he recieved was far more merciful than the treatment handed out to the victims of his regime....

I'm afraid I must beg to differ on this one...

"He committed no crime..."
In the eyes of the Roman masters of Judea, he was in fact more of a criminal than a lot of the people around at the time. Cricifiction was a very common punishment when no "games" were being held, expensive proposistions that they were. Judea was seen
to be a very unstable provice, and Essenes like Christ were seen to be guilty of sedition....

"Won no military battles yet conquered the world"
Alexander and others like him conquered. Christianity wasn't picked up as the state religon of Rome until after the emperor Constantine, and it still took many years before the "games" were abolished by the actions of the monk Telemuchus....

"Had no degree...."
To become a teacher in these times did not require a degree to begin with. In fact, ANYBODY with a will to the job and a bit of experience to pass on. "Degrees" did not become universally accepted as a standard for educators until after the Scots established the first UNIVERSITIES.

"Kings feared him...."
Serious doubt as to this....Feared more by elements of the Judea's Jewish population than anyone else....

"Had no servants, yet they called him Master..."
Lots of people in the Roman world were referred to by this title...

"Buried in a tomb yet he lives today..."
He lives, Sir, in the MINDS of people, just as other figures in History do. This really is mythologizing for the benefit of the church.....

All in all, if you look at academic, rather than religious based history, you will find perfectly reasonable explanations for all of this nonsense propagated by the church over the last 2000 odd years...

I have a funny feeling that Christ himself would ROLL OVER IN THE GRAVE if he could see just what his small anti-Roman group has become, how it's been twisted for the power needs of others....

In short, a little research will do you the world of good, rather than "thumping" the same book ad nauseum....

Regards

Freedom is a MINDSET, and idea, an ABSTRACT. You can't describe it, or quantify it...

But, like all ideas, it has a power of itslef that turns it into exactly what you want it to be at the time...

To Americans, they have 300 million or so different ideas of what freedom CAN be...

But, every so often, they all have the same idea of freddom at one time...

The events you spoke of in this blog were one such time, prooving once again Abraham Lincoln's message of the Gettysburg address...

"Government OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people, SHALL NOT PERISH FROM THIS EARTH."

It only grows and gets stronger, as the collective will manifests itself in the minds of the people themselves.

And it's a HUMAN trait; they need worship of nothing or no-one to achieve this....just an idea to follow.....

FREEDOM and JUSTICE for ALL....

The United States of America...Love it or leave it...
I'm an Australian, and we don't forget the Americans that gave their lives in 1941 - 1945 for the same idea. SUPPORT the Greatest Nation on Earth.

I thank you.
