Paris…finding religion?
I like Paris Hilton. Really. I honestly think that out of all of the starlets causing a ruckus in Hollywood, Paris is actually one of the few that is hard-working, honest, and smart. You can see this shine through whenever she’s on a talk show or even in episodes of her show, The Simple Life. Paris does put on an act sometimes (ok, much of the time) that’s she’s just another dumb blonde, but you know what? I still like her.
That said, I thought that the world was going to see a “new Paris”? Um…by new, she meant…? Granted Paris has done some charitable things. She’s continued her work with children’s hospitals (which she has done in the past–good for her!) and according to Paris Hilton Watch, she’s “applied her ‘hot’ label to issues such as breast cancer and multiple sclerosis, having lost both her grandmothers to the diseases”.
Ok. But…
Well, I don’t know. I guess I just thought that someone like Paris who claimed to have “found God”, so to speak, in prison would be spending more time and resources talking about religion, donating money, and going to charitable events. I’m not saying that she can’t have fun anymore, but according to papi photos, her most recent activities have been launching her new clothing line, attending parties for Rush Hour and The 11th Hour, and attending festivities for the launch of Lucky Magazine’s Resort Collection.
Maybe I’m being unfair. She was sited at the Heal the Bay benefit:

..as well as at the Project E and EDIN Charity Event and the Life Rolls On Charity Event.
And come to think about it…when’s the last time I did anything for any kind of charity? My life is oodles less complicated that Miss Hilton’s, but the last time I donated any kind of time or money to any cause whatsoever was June…
So what to you guys think? Is Paris doing enough “good deeds”? Are you?

I think it still remains to be seen if Paris is really changed. It is so easy to find religion in rough times. The follow through may take a while, though. She does do more charity work than some celebrities. I will grant her that.
