Scared Silly!

Last night, my boyfriend and I watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose, which is by far one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. Ever.
It’s the true-life story of Emily Rose, a girl who was suppossedly possesed by the devil and who died in order to show the world that demons exist. It’s horrifying to hear what happened at the exorcism…and what’s worse, it really happened. The sound in the movie are taken from the real life tpe recording made that night.
Do demons really exist?
Do possessions really happen?
Is the devil all around us?
Simply frightening thoughts. No matter what you believe are the answers to those questions, I think this is a movie worth seeing. Come to your own conclusions, but frankly, I was glad my boyfriends was here last night. I don’t think I would have been able to sleep otherwise.

Hi Allison,
I’ll finally be brief
Demons??
Of course. I believe everything the mind of a human can create can become, in one or another, real.
You mention the “true-life story” of Emily Rose, but then say she “was supposedly possessed by the devil.”
Do I take it, then, that you DON’T believe in demons, possessions, etc.?
Oh, BTW… What does your boyfriend think about all this Johnny Depp business. Not to mention Depp’s wife?!

I’m not sure what I believe regarding possession, Tim. I do believe that the human mind has the ability to create some horrific demons, but as for them being real, I’m not sure.
I suppose we could get into hours-long debates about what is “real”.
In any case, I call it a “true life” story because the movie portrays an event that did, in fact, happen. If you’ve never seen it, the movie is about the trial of the priest who performed the exorcism and not quite as much about emily herself. The trial did happen, not matter what you believe about the rest of the story.
And i say “supposedly” because it is something that people are speculating has happened, but that no one has proven or disproven. I have my own opinions about that, but my own opinions don’t always match up with others’ opinions and in any case, it’s not fact. So I say “supposedly”.
And p.s. My bf understands the JD thing. Haven’t you ever heard of a celebrity clause? hehehe…(jokes, jokes)

Hey Allison,
Sorry it took so long to return. It’s been a long days journey into this night.
OOOOOO. “Hours-long debates about what is “real.” Makes me warm all over. We should call Farley for a good bottle of wine (or two), and make plans for that right away.
Let’s choose a night when your bf is out with JD’s wife, K?
Sanity Claus, yes… Celebrity clause?
