Welcome New Writers
Just a quick holler to welcome the surge of new writers coming to 451 Press.
New jobs is the theme of my life right now, since I am graduating. It’s a trying time to move and have to worry about finding work. I’m going to try my hand at full time freelancing, so I pray that my efforts will be enough.
If you are also finding yourself in a new work environment, here’s some things to consider about religion:
1. Not everyone has the same religion as you. This might seem like a no-brainer, but many people fail to consider it when making comments in everyday conversation. Be sensitive to those around you who many feel uncomfortable with things like taking the Lord’s name in vain.
2. Don’t be afraid to talk about religion. If you’re having lunch with new work friends, religion doesn’t have to be a taboo subject. They might be able to give you suggestions regarding churches if you are new to the area.
3. If you want time off to observe a religious holiday, ask for it. The worst your boss can say is no.
Happy job-hunting, recent grads and happy writing, new bloggers!
