Where is God Pointing
There comes a time in every person’s life when God (or the Divine, or fate, or whatever you believe in) seems to be messing with you. You know what I mean. You’ll be on you way home from the mall with some great new sneakers and see a sign for the same thing half price at an outlet store. Something like that. It’s like rain on your wedding day. A free ride when you’ve already paid…Alanis knows what’s up.
Well, I am at such a point in my life.
After months of hard work, I’m actually a successful freelance writer. I’m doing what I love to do, on my own schedule, in my own apartment. Jobs are falling into my lap. People are recommending me to their friends and family.
And then, I got the call.
About a month ago, I applied for a job, on a whim. It’s an upper-level admin position. Let me make this clearer for you: I’m 21. Most people don’t get a chance at this job until they are well into their 30s or 40s.
And I got the called, from the vice president, that he wants to “discuss this opportunity” with me.
Stab me in the heart, why don’t ya? I’m LOVING this freelance lifestyle. It’s not the best money, but I’m not starving…and then this chance comes along, the job I had previously coveted.
So, today at 2 I have an interview.
At first I was really stressed out about it, but after talking to a friend tonight, I realized that I’m a very lucky girl. If I get offered the job, I’ll take it, because if I totally hate it, I can always just give my two weeks’ notice and dive back into freelance writing. If I don’t get offered the job, however, it won’t be too upsetting. I’m find great success in the world of freelancing.
God isn’t messing with me, he’s giving me a win-win situation.
Yay. It’s about time.
